About the gravy on the pancakes...my mom used to also take our leftover turkey or chicken and cream it (like a gravy), so I guess it was creamed chicken and we'd eat this on pancakes or waffles. She also made corncakes (pancakes made with cornmeal) in the summer and we'd eat them with butter and slices of tomato. Looking back....I guess we ate a lot of pancakes when I was young.
