Hello Janet,
I have great empathy for you in your ongoing worker comp claim. Its just rotten how many States treat their injured workers. That's one reason I have become a work comp advocate on many sites. I may be able to help answer many of your questions however I will need to know what state we are talking about.
In most cases your PM will give you any required medication(s) however today's pain management is much more than taking medications. If you receive comprehensive care you will also be afforded steroid injections, facet joint injections actually the kind of injections will be determined by your condition? There are also trials for pain pumps and stimulators should that be needed as well. However if your PM Dr is for real if there is any surgical benefits to having this surgery you speak of then this pain Dr will not treat you palliative until ALL surgeries have been completed and you are cleared by the surgeon that no more surgery will benefit you, at that time IF you need pain management then you will begin that long road.
Please feel free to write me if you have any questions about your states WC law or the recovery period that you can expect. I also have vast information of getting SSD/SSI benefits due to pain should nothing help improve your condition
GOOD LUCK!!
